Maybe this post will provide some useful fodder for someone with the same issue. If you or Windows Update installed required drivers for nvidia graphics card in your computer, it automatically creates a new user account UpdatusUser for update purposes.

UpdatusUser folder is automatically created by NVIDIA graphics card driver installer. I still do not know what the root cause of the problem is/was. The stuck Logging Off and Account Unknown remain a mystery. I do not think this is the answer either, not even a fix or solution – at best a kludge.
